We just spent a fantastic month at Anasa Retreat. From the moment we arrived, to our departure, it felt like a homecoming; with attention to every detail of our stay.
Anasa Retreat is much more than a standard vacation rental; it's a spectacular villa with its own secluded grounds nestled in the lush foothills of western Crete. When we entered the front door, we felt an immediate sense of calm and comfort.
The villa is gorgeous and the design is understated, sophisticated and charming. A Cretan architectural gem with blond stone walls, high beam ceilings and a masterful arch framing the open kitchen and living room. The contemporary living room opens onto a massive veranda with views over the olive groves, local villages, herds of sheep, the highest mountains of Crete, and the dramatic skies. Anasa's swimming pool has an infinity edge and is a great place to chill and soak in the beauty. We loved sitting out in the sunken, state-of-the-art hot tub, set at the perfect temperature. It was magical for watching the sunset with a glass of wine.
The large open kitchen is superb with everything one might need for preparing meals in this stunning location. This is not a standard vacation rental kitchen, as it has high end appliances and every accessory! We fell in love with the milk frother for making barista style coffee. If we wanted to go out to dinner, the charming village of Gavalohori is a 5-minute drive and the beach town of Almyrida is 8 minutes away. It was hard for us to leave the enchanted grounds. It's a perfect setting for a romantic getaway, creative retreat or family vacation to explore Western Crete.
For us, Anasa Retreat has a perfect blend of Greek charm and modern luxury. It is truly a gem and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay on the magical island of Crete.
